NAIROBI, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- South Africa's Jacques Kruyswijk carded a four under 67 on Sunday to claim his maiden DP World Tour title in Kenya's capital Nairobi by winning the Magical Kenya Open by two shots on Sunday.

Elsewhere, China's Jin Zihao fired a three under 68 to storm up the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh.

Jin's compatriot Li Haotong, who had been in a position to fight for a maiden DP Tour title on the penultimate round on Saturday, shot a three over par 74 in the final round to slip down to a tie for 41st.

The day, however, belonged to Kruyswijk, who held off the challenge of playing partner John Parry to win the third leg of the 2025 DP World Tour.

"It's special. I am a little bit lost for words, but this is for my family back home, my friends, my team and this is for South Africa. I am happy that I can keep the trophy on African soil and obviously bring it back to South Africa. It makes me very proud," Kruyswijk remarked after his landmark victory.

The South African carded four birdies to complete a bogey-free weekend having started the final day with a one-shot lead.

However, Englishman Parry nosed ahead after the opening five holes at Nairobi's Muthaiga Golf Club with birdies in the fourth and fifth.

The 32-year-old South African roared back, birding the sixth and seventh holes to lead by a stroke at the turn.

Kruyswijk opened a two-shot lead with another birdie in the tenth hole, but Parry cut the gap once more with a birdie in the 12th.

But when the Englishman bogeyed the 14th hole, the South African claimed his fourth birdie of the day in the 16th to stretch his advantage to three shots-- before shooting level pars in the final two holes to lift the title.

Perry admitted his playing partner was the deserved champion.

"I'm very happy with my week. Obviously it didn't go the way I wanted it today, but I played as well as I could, I tried to push him as hard as I could, he just played better on the day really," the runner-up added.

Deon Germishuys was three shots further back in third, one ahead of Jayden Schaper in fourth as South Africans finished 1-3-4. Enditem
