KABUL, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- A week-long street book fair kicked off on Sunday in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, which was aimed at promoting the culture of book reading among the public.
Organized by the Kabul Municipality in collaboration with an independent publisher, the exhibition features hundreds of book titles across various genres, including language education, psychology, and literature, according to a statement from the Kabul Municipality.
"The exhibition has been well received by visitors, both men and women, and we are delighted to see such enthusiasm for books," Ali Ahmad Nazari, one of the organizers, told Xinhua.
Nazari added that in the first two days alone, between 100 and 150 books were sold, and that organizers hope to attract more visitors and boost sales in the coming days.
The book fair, set up in western Kabul, will run until next Saturday. Enditem
