TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- A top Iranian military commander warned Monday that any Israeli threat against Iran's interests will receive a "decisive" response from the country's armed forces, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

Gholam-Ali Rashid, commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the remarks in southeastern Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province while reacting to recent threats by Israeli officials against Iran, including against its nuclear facilities.

"We warn Israel and the United States, owing its all-out support for Israel, that any Israeli threat against the Iranian nation's interests will be assessed as being based on U.S. full support for Israel, and decisive actions will be taken by the Iranian armed forces through targeting the source of the aggression and the facilities and bases that would assist Israel," Rashid said.

Over the past four decades, the "enemies" have been making miscalculations about Iran due to their lack of knowledge about the country and its people, and over the past four months, Israel has been trying to deceive the United States, Europe and West Asia by providing an "incorrect" narrative about Iran's power, he said.

On Feb. 16, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking alongside U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jerusalem, said Israel and the United States "work shoulder to shoulder" to counter Tehran's nuclear program and regional military activities, with both sides agreeing that Iran "must not have nuclear weapons" and that "Iran's aggression in the region has to be rolled back."
