KIEV -- The leaders of eight Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8) issued a joint statement calling for Ukraine and Europe's participation in potential peace talks on ending the Ukrainian crisis, Ukrainian media reported Monday.

Ukraine must receive strong security guarantees during the talks and Europe should demonstrate its leadership, said the statement signed by all NB8 leaders. (Ukraine-Russia-Conflict)

THE HAGUE -- Former European Commissioner and Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs (FM) Hans van den Broek died at the age of 88, his family confirmed to Dutch news agency ANP on Monday.

The former Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) politician suffered from a form of dementia for some time. He was minister of foreign affairs in three governments of Dutch Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers, between 1982 and 1993. (Netherlands-Former FM-Death)

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia has found a total of 230 foreigners in raids on two online scam compounds in northwest Banteay Meanchey province's Poipet City, the National Police said in a press release on Monday.

The crackdown was made over the weekend in Poipet, a city on the border with Thailand, after a thorough probe for more than three months, the press release said. (Cambodia-Online Scam-Raid)

HARARE -- The death toll from a recent bus-truck collision in Zimbabwe has increased to 28, local police said Monday.

The accident occurred on Feb. 13 after the bus collided head-on with the truck while trying to overtake another vehicle at a tollgate in the Matabeleland South Province. (Zimbabwe-Accident-Death) Enditem
