ISLAMABAD, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan and Azerbaijan agreed on Monday to enhance trade and investment, focusing on joint projects in energy, infrastructure and connectivity, the Pakistani Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

The media wing of the office said that the decision came during a high-level meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

Both leaders acknowledged that the current trade volume does not reflect the true potential of their strong political and brotherly ties and pledged to explore new investment opportunities.

Sharif, who was on a two-day visit to Baku, welcomed Azerbaijan's announcement of a 2 billion U.S. dollars investment in Pakistan as the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen a strategic partnership and cooperation across diverse sectors. Enditem
