UNITED NATIONS -- The UN Security Council on Monday adopted a U.S.-drafted resolution appealing for a swift end to the conflict and urging a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, as the world marked the third anniversary since the full escalation of the crisis.
The resolution received 10 votes in favor, none against, and five abstentions including France, Britain, Denmark, Greece and Slovenia. (UN-Ukraine)

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday, as investors assessed the potential impact of U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies while shifting their attention to Nvidia's upcoming earnings report.

MEXICO CITY -- At least five people died and six others were poisoned by carbon monoxide on Monday due to a fire in an addiction rehabilitation center in the south of the Mexican capital, local authorities said.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City said it "learned five people lost their lives and six more poisoned by carbon monoxide due to a fire" in a property located in the Ocotla Chico neighborhood of Tlalpan borough. (Mexico-Accident)

BAKU -- The leaders of Azerbaijan and Pakistan have agreed to reinforce the two countries' strategic partnership as President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held high-level talks in Baku, culminating in Azerbaijan's pledge to invest up to 2 billion U.S. dollars in Pakistan's economy.
