JAKARTA, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has requested technical assistance from the World Bank for its plan to build 3 million houses per year, according to the Ministry of Housing and Settlement.

On Monday, ministry officials met with representatives from the World Bank, including Claudia Inez Vasquez, the World Bank's program leader for infrastructure, and Luiz Trivero, a senior urban development specialist, to explore technical support for the implementation of the house program.

"We are also ready to collaborate and work with various stakeholders, including the World Bank, to realize the spirit of mutual cooperation in building homes for the people," said Deputy Minister Fahri Hamzah.

During the meeting, Claudia said that the World Bank had prepared several proposals and submitted them to the ministry for implementation, with the goal of ensuring that more people receive housing assistance.

She noted that the World Bank views the program, which is part of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's vision, as a significant breakthrough in providing decent and affordable housing for the community.

Prabowo's flagship housing program aims to construct 1 million homes in urban areas and 2 million in rural areas annually, expanding access to affordable housing and alleviating poverty. Enditem
