COLOMBO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Cabinet of Ministers has extended the operational time for the Project Management Unit of the Port City Colombo Development Project until June 2027, the Department of Government Information said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Project Management Unit is the main unit that connects the Sri Lankan government and the CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd for project supervision, resolution of issues, and coordination of utility services, the statement said.

The functions that were planned under the second stage of the project are expected to be completed at the end of June 2027, and thus the cabinet decided that the supervision and coordination activities conducted by the Project Management Unit should be further continued, it added. Enditem
