Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan agree on developing energy cooperation

ALMATY, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to develop infrastructure and energy cooperation, as well as to implement joint investment projects, according to a statement from the Kazakh presidential press service issued on Tuesday following an official meeting between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to the comprehensive deepening of their strategic partnership.

Special attention was given to the implementation of joint investment projects and cooperation in the water and energy sectors.

It was reported that the trade turnover between the two countries in 2024 amounted to 1.7 billion U.S. dollars. The countries plan to increase bilateral trade to 3 billion U.S. dollars by 2030. Enditem.
