Polish, Latvian presidents discuss security, cooperation

WARSAW, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Polish President Andrzej Duda met with his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkevics on Tuesday to discuss security and cooperation.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Warsaw, Duda underscored the need to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and establish lasting peace, expressing hope that upcoming negotiations would contribute to a resolution.

Rinkevics reaffirmed Latvia's commitment to defense and emphasized the strategic partnership between Latvia and Poland. He also acknowledged Poland's role in integrating Baltic states into the European energy system.

The two leaders also explored potential cooperation with Ukraine in the exploitation of its mineral resources. Enditem
