TUNIS, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian customs officials intercepted 96.3 kg of cannabis hidden in clothing and shoes at Tunis-Carthage International Airport's cargo terminal, the Tunisian Customs agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

Authorities discovered the drugs during a routine inspection of packages bound for an unspecified international destination, according to the statement posted on the agency's official Facebook page.

Investigators identified the suspect as a foreign national preparing to travel abroad. The individual and the seized narcotics were handed over to security services for further investigation following coordination with the Public Prosecution, the statement added.
