KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including rocket-propelled grenades and several pieces of AK-47 in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, provincial police spokesman Mullah Assadullah Jamshid said Thursday.
The weaponry which includes one piece of RPG-7, five pieces of AK-47, two pistols and a huge quantity of ammunition, including hand grenades were found in a house in Panjwai district a couple of days ago, the official added.
The official, however, did not say if anyone had been detained.
Law enforcing agencies of the Afghan interim government have vowed to collect arms and ammunition from anyone living outside the security apparatus. Enditem
