BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) announced the winners of the 2024 annual awards on Thursday following a global voting process, with athletes from China, Iran, and Singapore receiving top honors.

Zhang Qingchun, 24, was named Men's Wushu Taolu Athlete of the Year, while his 15-year-old compatriot Deng Zhixuan was recognized as the Female Wushu Taolu Rising Star.

Iran's Zahra Kiani won the Women's Wushu Taolu Athlete of the Year award, and Amirhesam Mohammadi was named the Wushu Sanda Rising Star. Singapore's Xin Yun Chua was honored as the Wushu Taolu Rising Star.

The IWUF conducted an online voting campaign from Jan. 20 to Feb. 20 to determine the winners based on their performances in international events throughout the previous year. Following the global voting and a technical review of valid votes, the final list of winners was released.

IWUF has been presenting annual athlete awards since 2022. Enditem
