ALMATY, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's population stands at 20.3 million as of early 2025, reflecting a 1.3 percent increase. However, the birth rate has declined by 6.2 percent, the country's Kazinform News Agency reported on Thursday.
Life expectancy at birth has increased by 9.7 years over the past two decades, reaching 75.1 years, said Kazakh Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova.
However, there's a significant gender gap in life expectancy, Alnazarova noted.
On average, women live eight years longer than men. In comparison, the life expectancy gap in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries is around 5-6 years. Enditem
