JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- A total of 10 healthcare centers have been constructed and become operational in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, said a statement of the provincial government on Friday.
Constructed at a cost of 460,000 U.S. dollars, the health centers would provide services in the field of maternity, maternal, child and nutrition to the residents of all the districts of the province, the statement added.
Similarly, the Afghan authorities inaugurated a 100-bed hospital in the northern Kunduz province recently to provide health services to the northeastern region of the country.
Paying attention to improving the health sector, the Afghan interim government's public health ministry has decided to build a healthcare center in each district of the war-ravaged Afghanistan. Enditem
