Kenyan runners win Israel's Tel Aviv Marathon

JERUSALEM, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Felix Kimutai won the men's event of Israel's annual Tel Aviv Marathon on Friday in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 13 seconds.

His compatriots Vincent Kipsang Rono and Vincent Kipyegon Ronoh finished second and third in 2:12:18 and 2:12:26, respectively.

Kenya's Teresiah Omosa claimed the women's event title in a time of 2:37:38, followed by her compatriot Jerubat Perez (2:38:48) and Evgeniia Indina of Russia (2:42:04).

Kimutai and Omosa each won a prize of 7,500 U.S. dollars.

Israel's Maru Teferi, the men's marathon silver medalist at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, won the half marathon in Tel Aviv in 1:02:21. His compatriot Maor Tiyouri finished first in the women's event.

Around 45,000 athletes participated in the event, which also included 10km, 5km, 3km, hand cycle, and children's races. Enditem
