KABUL, March 1 (Xinhua) -- At least three people lost their lives and three others were injured after two passenger vehicles collided in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, the state-owned news agency reported Saturday.
The mishap took place on the outskirts of the province's Muqur district, along the highway linking the capital Kabul with the southern Kandahar province, Bakhtar news agency quoted Khalid Sarhadi, provincial police spokesman, as saying.
Three commuters sustained injuries in the Qarabagh district of the same province due to a road incident on the same highway, the source added.
Road accidents due to reckless driving on congested roads and lack of traffic signs on dilapidated highways are a leading cause of deaths in the war-ravaged country. Enditem
