GAZA -- Israel will only be able to "get its captives back" through a prisoner exchange deal, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi said Sunday in a press statement.

DAMASCUS -- At least four people were killed and more than 13 others injured when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire on Sunday on a group of worshippers in the village of Hayalin, central Syria's Hama, local media Sham FM reported.

TEHRAN -- Iranian lawmakers on Sunday impeached Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Abdolnaser Hemmati due to the country's economic problems, the official news agency IRNA reported.
After being impeached at an open parliamentary session over issues such as high inflation and the depreciation of the national currency, Hemmati failed to secure the parliament's vote of confidence, with 182 out of 273 members of parliament voting in favor of his removal, the report said. JERUSALEM -- Israel has blocked humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since early Sunday, Israeli officials confirmed.
