Sri Lanka receives half million tourists in 2025

COLOMBO, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's tourist arrivals surpassed the half-million mark on March 2, local media reported on Monday.

According to the report, 485,102 tourists arrived in January and February, which was the highest recorded for those months in Sri Lanka's history. With approximately 18,000 more visitors on March 1 and 2, the total crossed 500,000.

The Central Bank previously reported that tourism earnings in January 2025 were estimated at 401 million U.S. dollars. Enditem
