KABUL, March 3 (Xinhua) -- At least two people have been confirmed dead and three others were injured in a road accident in north Afghanistan's Samangan province, the state-run news agency reported on Monday.
The mishap occurred on the outskirts of the Tangi Tashqurghan area of the Khulm district of the province, along the highway linking the province to northern Balkh province, Bakhtar news agency stated.
According to the source, the injured are now under treatment in the provincial hospital of Balkh.
Similarly, three commuters lost their lives and three others were injured after two passenger vehicles collided in eastern Ghazni province on Saturday.
Dilapidated roads, reckless driving, lack of safety measures for travelers on congested highways, overspeeding and overloading are the main reasons for road mishaps in the war-ravaged Central Asian country. Enditem
