DAR ES SALAAM, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The Tanzanian government will build 145 vocational education and training institutes by the end of 2025 to equip youth with skills that meet both national and international labor market demands, an official said Monday.
Anthony Kasore, director-general of the Vocational Education and Training Authority, announced that 80 institutes have been constructed nationwide.
"These institutions are intended to groom a new generation of skilled youth professionals who will drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth," Kasore told a press conference in the capital Dodoma.
From 2021 to 2024, about 295,175 young people enrolled in vocational education and training institutions across the country, gaining the knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in the job market, Kasore added. Enditem
