MADRID, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A majority of Spaniards are concerned that Donald Trump's presidency will negatively impact global peace, trade, and efforts to combat climate change, according to a poll published on Monday.
The survey, conducted by polling firm 40dB from Feb. 21 to 24, was published by Spanish radio station Cadena Ser and the newspaper El Pais.
The poll found that 59 percent of respondents viewed Trump's presidency as "negative" or "very negative" for efforts to combat climate change, with only 12 percent believing his leadership would have a positive impact. Similarly, 60 percent saw his influence on global trade as negative due to his tariff threats, while only 17 percent expected benefits.
Concerns over world peace were also high, with 57 percent expressing a negative view of Trump's impact, while just 21 percent believed he could contribute to peace.
Spaniards also felt Trump's presidency would primarily benefit the wealthy and major tech companies, while harming immigrants, women, and the working and middle classes. Enditem
