BISHKEK, March 4 (Xinhua) - The gross inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan from individuals in 2024 amounted to 3 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 10.5 percent compared to 2023, the National Bank of the country reported on Tuesday.
At the same time, the gross outflow of remittances from Kyrgyzstan for the same period amounted to 445.8 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 20.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023, the report said.
Thus, in 2024, the net inflow of remittances from individuals amounted to 2.5 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 18.6 percent compared to 2023.
The majority of transfers (93 percent) came from Russia, which transferred 2.8 billion U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, remittances from Kyrgyzstan were also mainly directed to Russia, with 371.2 million U.S. dollars, or 83 percent of the gross outflow. Enditem
