YANGON, March 5 (Xinhua) -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck southern Myanmar at 4:36 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.
According to the DMH, the epicenter was determined to be about 6 miles to the southeast of Nyaungdon town of Ayeyarwady Region.
The earthquake, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 16.96 degrees north latitude and 95.66 degrees east longitude, it said.
Earlier, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Taikkyi town in Yangon on March 3. Enditem
