MEXICO CITY, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Robert Ergas and Rogelio Funes Mori scored goals in each half as Mexico's Pumas UNAM eased to a 2-0 home win over Costa Rican side Alajuelense in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16 tie on Tuesday.

Ergas gave his side the lead at Ciudad Universitaria in Mexico City by slotting a first-time effort into the far corner after Pablo Monroy's pass.

Mexico international forward Mori doubled the advantage when he headed home after a set piece in the 73rd minute.

Elsewhere in the round of 16 on Tuesday, Nicolas Ibanez canceled out Pavel Bucha's early goal to earn Mexican outfit Tigres UANL a 1-1 draw with Cincinnati in the United States.

The winner of the competition will automatically qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Enditem
