5.5-magnitude quake jolts northwestern Myanmar

YANGON, March 5 (Xinhua) - A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Myanmar's Sagaing region at 12:06 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.

According to DMH, the epicenter was located about 23 miles southwest of Homalin town in Sagaing region.

The earthquake, with a depth of 64 km, was initially determined to be at 24.62 degrees north latitude and 94.67 degrees east longitude, it said.

Earlier this morning, at 4:36 a.m. local time, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit southern Myanmar. Enditem
