HANOI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- About 40-50 percent of localities in Vietnam have plans to turn existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks by 2030, Vietnam News reported Wednesday.
Between 8 percent to 10 percent of them will build new ecological parks, said the report.
Experts said the shift follows an important trend in industrial and economic development in Vietnam.
Eco-industrial parks not only bring financial benefits to businesses and the community, but also positively contribute to environmental protection and improve workers' quality of life.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recent years, foreign direct investment (FDI) capital in industrial parks and economic zones has accounted for about 35-40 percent of the country's total additional registered FDI capital. Enditem
