ISLAMABAD -- Twelve civilians and six terrorists were killed and 32 people injured when terrorists targeted a cantonment area in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, according to police and government officials on Tuesday.

A group of terrorists, including suicide bombers, attempted to enter the cantonment area but failed due to timely response by security forces in Bannu district of the province, KP government spokesperson Mohammad Ali Saif told Xinhua. (Pakistan-Terror Attack)

MEXICO CITY -- Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Tuesday urged Mexicans, including those in the United States, to unite against the Trump administration's 25-percent tariffs on the country's exports.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he has received a letter from his Ukrainian counterpart saying that Kiev is ready to enter peace negotiations without delay.

The "important letter" from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was received earlier in the day, Trump said when addressing a joint session of Congress, quoting the letter in part as saying: "Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer." JOHANNESBURG -- Ten people were killed and several others injured in a collision between two vehicles in South Africa's central province of Free State on Wednesday morning.

According to a statement issued by the Free State Police, the accident occurred on the N6 road between Reddersburg and Smithfield in the province at about 4:20 a.m. local time when a bus carrying 35 passengers and a truck collided. (South Africa-Road accident) Enditem
