COLOMBO, March 5 (Xinhua) -- The Sri Lankan government has identified 100 new locations as tourist attractions and plans to invest 1 billion rupees (3.4 million U.S. dollars) in developing basic infrastructure in these areas, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ruwan Ranasinghe said Wednesday.

As part of the Clean Sri Lanka national program, which aims to promote a morally and environmentally sustainable nation, Sri Lanka will also establish visitor centers this year, he said.

Tourism is a key source of foreign revenue for Sri Lanka. The country is aiming for 3 million tourist arrivals this year, according to government statements. Enditem
