BAGHDAD, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani held a telephone conversation on Wednesday with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during which they discussed bilateral relations.

The two leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation and expand mutual interests between the two friendly nations, particularly in trade and economic areas, according to a statement issued by al-Sudani's media office.

They also explored investment support and cooperation in energy projects, with a specific focus on gas, petroleum products, and renewable energy, the statement said.

For his part, Berdimuhamedov invited al-Sudani to attend the International Forum of Peace and Trust, which will be held in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat in December this year to address key international issues, including sustainable development and international cooperation, it added. Enditem
