LOS ANGELES, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The world's leading natural products expo is taking place in Southern California this week, showcasing new innovations and global trends in the health, beauty, and natural products industries.

The expo, named Natural Products Expo West, has attracted over 60,000 industry professionals from around the world, representing sectors such as food and beverage, health and beauty, vitamins and supplements, and raw ingredients, according to the organizer.

Held annually at the Anaheim Convention Center in Irvine, Southern California, Expo West is one of the largest events in the packaged food and beverage industry. It offers an unparalleled experience for discovering emerging and pioneering brands, showcasing ingredient innovations, presenting new nutritional science, and shaping the future of the natural and organic products sector, according to the organizer.

Among the participants are many Chinese companies.

Braveiy Biotechnology Co., Ltd, an innovative global manufacturer of dietary supplements based in Anhui Province, China, produces supplements for U.S. brands that are sold in U.S. pharmacies and supermarkets.

"The U.S. market is the largest in the world for the dietary supplement industry. Consumers here prefer traditional dosage forms like bottled capsules, softgels, and tablets. It's a well-educated market where people are willing to take supplements for various health functions," Zhechen Di, sales manager at Braveiy Biotechnology Co., Ltd, told Xinhua.

He said the company focuses on innovations in functional ingredients such as Akkermansia probiotics, as well as new supplement forms, like liquid sachets of calcium targeted at the children's market. "We hope to showcase Chinese innovations at the expo and expand our business in the U.S. market," Di told Xinhua.

Solstice Medicine Company, a leader in delivering high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Chinese herbal remedies to the United States, has participated in the expo for many years. Its product lineup includes 999 Ganmao Qingre Granules, Yunnan Baiyao Herbal Powder, and Golden Throat Lozenges.

Phillip So, chairman and founder of Solstice Medicine Company, headquartered in Los Angeles, told Xinhua that Chinese medicine has become increasingly popular in Western countries, including the United States. "We hope to introduce more quality Chinese medicines to American customers," he said.

The expo also features a series of educational sessions and events that highlight the latest industry trends, innovations, and efforts in social and environmental sustainability. One such session, Climate Day, delved into groundbreaking initiatives by industry leaders to tackle the global climate crisis.

The expo runs through Friday. Enditem
