HANOI, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's pepper export value surged by 52 percent in the first two months of 2025, despite a 9.4 percent decline in export volume, Vietnam News Agency cited the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association as saying on Friday.

The country exported 28,000 tons of pepper during the cited period, generating an impressive revenue of 188.7 million U.S. dollars, said the association.

Last year, Vietnam exported 200,000 tons of pepper, bringing home 1.32 billion dollars. The pepper cultivation area covered 110,500 hectares, yielding 2.6 tons per hectare.

This year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment aims to maintain the pepper cultivation area between 80,000 and 100,000 hectares, targeting a yield of 2.4-2.5 tons per hectare and an annual production of 200,000-300,000 tons. Enditem
