MOSCOW, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces have launched an overnight group strikes on Ukrainian gas and energy infrastructure, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.

The ministry said in a statement that the strikes involved high-precision long-range air, sea and land-based weapons, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, and its objective was achieved.

The ministry noted that Russian forces launched seven group strikes over the past week with high-precision weapons and attack drones, causing damage to Ukrainian military airfield infrastructure, ammunition depots, production facilities, storage warehouses, and control points for attack drones, boat basing locations, as well as temporary deployment sites.

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said earlier today that all necessary measures are being taken to stabilize energy and gas supplies after the large-scale Russian attack.

According to the Regional Military Administration, a critical industrial facility in the western Ternopil region was hit, with the region possibly facing restrictions on gas supplies. Enditem
