Belarus' gold, foreign currency reserves reach 9.4 bln USD

MINSK, March 8 (Xinhua) -- As of February, Belarus' gold and foreign currency reserves amounted to 9.4 billion U.S. dollars, the country's central bank said on Friday.

In February, gold and foreign currency reserves increased by 74 million U.S. dollars, or 0.8 percent, after growing by 410.6 million U.S. dollars, or 4.6 percent in January, the regulator said.

The largest share of Belarus's international reserve assets was foreign currency and monetary gold.

By the end of February, the country's foreign currency reserves amounted to 3.15 billion U.S. dollars, having increased by 35.4 million, or 1.1 percent, during the month. The volume of monetary gold was 4.91 billion U.S. dollars, having increased by 37.6 million U.S. dollars, or 0.8 percent.

Belarus says its international assets should not fall below 7.1 billion U.S. dollars at the end of 2025. Enditem
