WELLINGTON, March 8 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand will hold a high-profile investment summit next week to help grow economy, create opportunities for Kiwis, and raise the standard of living for families.

The New Zealand Infrastructure Investment Summit, to be held on March 13-14 in Auckland, will showcase New Zealand's infrastructure pipeline and growth sectors to international financial companies and institutions managing assets and funds worth around 6 trillion NZ dollars (3.43 trillion U.S. dollars) in capital, Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop said on Saturday.

The participants include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and major banks, as well as delegates from the construction and engineering sectors from 14 countries, Bishop said, adding their presence demonstrates New Zealand is held in high regard internationally as an economy that is worth investing in.

"The upcoming summit is all about attracting investment into the infrastructure projects New Zealanders need to get ahead," he said.

On the two-day summit, New Zealand government ministers will showcase the country's pipeline of projects in transport, health, education, courts and corrections, and the resources sector.

Four growth sectors, including aquaculture, renewable energy, clean technology and advanced transportation such as space technology, will be highlighted, said a government statement.

The government has also created a regulatory environment promoting international capital and makes it easier to start projects, such as reforming foreign investment laws and immigration settings, and establishing fast track approvals.

Attendees will come from countries including Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Britain and the United States. Enditem
