KABUL, March 8 (Xinhua) -- A total of 475 Afghan youths joined the national army after receiving four months of military training, the state-run Bakhtar news agency said on Saturday.

All the 475 graduates received their certificates in a graduation ceremony held on Friday and vowed to serve the country under any circumstances, the state-owned media outlet added.

This is the second batch of Afghan youngsters who have joined Afghanistan's national army over the past week.

After taking over power in August 2021, the Afghan interim government initially planned to form an army with 150,000 people, and later announced more efforts to expand it to 170,000 and gradually to 200,000 based on the changing situation. Enditem
