BUENOS AIRES, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Chile international midfielder Felipe Loyola struck late as Independiente continued its impressive start to Argentina's Primera Division Apertura season with a 2-1 win at San Lorenzo on Saturday.

Lautaro Millan give the visitors an early lead at El Nuevo Gasometro by combining with Loyola and rifling a long-range effort into the bottom-left corner.

The hosts equalized through Andres Vombergar, who converted from the penalty spot after Alexis Cuello was brought down by Kevin Lomonaco.

Loyola broke the deadlock 16 minutes from time when his right-footed effort from 12 yards left goalkeeper Orlando Gill with no chance.

Independiente now leads the 15-team Group B standings with 20 points from nine outings while San Lorenzo is third, three points behind.

Earlier in Argentina's top-flight on Saturday, a first-half goal from Eric Ramirez gave Huracan a 1-0 away victory over Racing Club. Enditem
