KABUL, March 10 (Xinhua) -- One traveler lost his life and seven others sustained injuries in a road mishap in eastern Afghanistan's Nuristan province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Monday.
The traffic accident happened when a passenger vehicle veered off the road due to overloading and overturned in a mountainous region of Afzok, Barg-e-Matal district of the province, leaving one dead on the spot and seven others injured, Bakhtar quoted provincial governor as saying.
Without disclosing further details, the official blamed reckless driving for the incident, saying all the injured passengers were taken to a nearby local health center, it said.
This is the second road accident in the eastern region of Afghanistan over the past five days. A similar accident claimed two lives and injured seven others in Nuristan's neighboring Laghman province on Thursday. Enditem
