MINSK, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Alexander Turchin as the country's prime minister, the press service of the Belarusian leader said on Monday.

The Belarusian constitution stipulates that the prime minister is appointed by the president of the Republic of Belarus with the prior consent of the House of Representatives. This procedure has been observed, the press service said.
