COLOMBO, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The air quality in many parts of Sri Lanka, including Colombo and Galle, two of Sri Lanka's most populous cities, has deteriorated, the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) data on Monday showed.
According to the NBRO, Air Quality Index levels in these areas ranged between 100 and 150 on Monday, falling below the threshold considered healthy for the average person.
The NBRO warned that members of sensitive groups may experience health effects and emphasized the need for special precautions, particularly for the elderly and young children, who are more vulnerable to the harmful impacts of poor air quality. Enditem
