BISHKEK, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The total sown area in Kyrgyzstan this year has reached 1.25 million hectares, 3,300 hectares more than last year, the country's Kabar news agency reported on Monday.
With an increase in sown area, the area of unused arable land will decrease this year, the report said, citing the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, unused agricultural land amounted to 43,000 hectares in 2023 and 39,000 hectares in 2024.
The Ministry of Agriculture encourages farmers to prioritize high-yielding crop and fruit varieties to boost agricultural productivity, the report said. Enditem
