YANGON, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Police seized 500,000 stimulant tablets and other drugs in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint anti-narcotic task force intercepted a motorcycle in Tachileik township on March 9 and confiscated 300 grams of ketamine along with a suspect.

Further investigation led to the seizure of an additional 950 grams of ketamine and 162 grams of happy water at the suspect's house in the same township, it said.

Similarly, police intercepted a vehicle in Tachileik on March 10 and confiscated 500,000 stimulant tablets along with two suspects, it added.

The three suspects were charged under the Southeast Asian country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations were underway, the CCDAC said. Enditem
