PHNOM PENH, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia made a total of 211 million U.S. dollars from the exports of milled rice and rubber latex during the first two months of 2025, according to official reports on Wednesday.

A Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) report showed that the kingdom exported 135,074 tonnes of milled rice to 51 countries and regions during the January-February period, earning 106 million dollars in revenue.

"About 86.03 percent of the exported milled rice was fragrant rice, 8.65 percent was white rice, 2.99 percent was parboiled rice, 1.87 percent was organic rice, and 0.46 percent was other types of rice," CRF secretary general Lun Yeng said.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Rubber reported that Cambodia exported 54,587 tonnes of rubber latex in the first two months this year, down 6.3 percent year on year.

The kingdom made 105 million dollars in revenue from rubber latex exports, up 24 percent compared to the same period last year.

"A tonne of rubber latex averagely cost 1,926 U.S. dollars during the first two months of 2025, roughly 475 dollars higher than that of the same period last year," Khun Kakada, acting director general of the General Directorate of Rubber, said.

Both rice and rubber are among the country's potential cash crops in addition to cashew nuts, cassava, yellow bananas, mangoes, durians, and longans. Enditem
