KABUL, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Two siblings lost their lives and their father was injured in intense clashes between nomads and local residents in eastern Afghanistan's Wardak province, local media reported on Wednesday.

The incident happened late Tuesday in Shanez area in Sayedabad district of the province, killing two siblings on the spot and leaving their father injured, TOLO news quoted a local official as saying.

Security forces have taken into custody six fugitive suspects in connection with the case in Wardak's neighboring Ghazni and Logar provinces.

The reason behind the conflict was unknown.

In Afghanistan, conflicts are common between local residents and nomads over pastures and agricultural lands, which can result in deaths and injuries for both sides. Enditem
