ALMATY, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.4 percent in January-February 2025, according to the government's press service on Wednesday.
During a working meeting in Astana, chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Deputy Prime Minister and National Economy Minister Serik Zhumangarin presented a report on the country's socio-economic performance for the first two months of the year.
The country's GDP growth reached 5.4 percent, driven by improvements in both goods production and the services sector. Industrial production increased by 5.7 percent due to ongoing efforts to unlock the country's industrial potential.
The manufacturing sector showed an 8.9 percent increase. Among the key industries, machinery manufacturing grew by 18.2 percent, food production by 13.1 percent, construction materials by 21.6 percent, metal products by 20.1 percent, and the chemical industry by 9 percent.
