LA PAZ -- At least 13 people were killed and about 20 others were injured in a bus accident Wednesday on the road connecting the southern Bolivian departments of Potosi and Chuquisaca, local authorities said.
The director of the Potosi Transit Operations Agency, Col. Victor Benavidez, confirmed the death toll and told local media that fatalities could rise due to the seriousness of some injuries. (Bolivia-Bus Crash)

PARIS -- Defense ministers from Europe's top five military powers, France, Germany, Britain, Italy and Poland, met on Wednesday in Paris and voiced support for the Ukrainian army.

HELSINKI -- Large earthquake swarms started in southwestern Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula since the afternoon of Wednesday. More than 190 earthquakes have been detected as of evening, reported the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO).
There were three major earthquakes more than magnitude 3, among which the biggest one was magnitude 3.4, announced IMO. (Iceland-Earthquake)

UNITED NATIONS -- The United Nations welcomes a joint statement following the U.S.-Ukraine talks, in which Ukraine has agreed to the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, and hopes it will pave the way for a just peace in the country, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Wednesday.
"First of all, in relation to the ceasefire, we of course will welcome a ceasefire in Ukraine," Guterres said at a press conference when commenting on Ukraine's readiness to accept the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. (UN-Ukraine) Enditem
