HANOI, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's automobile market recorded robust growth in February, with total vehicle sales reaching 21,606 units, up 86 percent year-on-year, state-owned Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday.
Domestically assembled vehicles outpaced imports, with sales of locally produced cars rising 21 percent month-on-month to 11,067 units, while imported vehicle sales increased 8 percent to 10,539 units, the report said, citing the data released by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association.
The association noted a significant shift toward fuel-efficient vehicles, with hybrid and electric car sales soaring to 756 units in February, a sharp increase from 205 units in the same period last year. Enditem
