SEOUL, March 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's finance ministry saw a dimmer economic situation for the fourth straight month on Friday amid growing uncertainties at home and abroad.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance said in its monthly report, called Green Book, that the Asian economy recently had been under an increased downward pressure due to slowing export growth and weakened economic sentiment, affected by expanded uncertainties at home and abroad.

The ministry noted that domestic demand recovery was delayed on soft consumption and construction investment while employment difficulties continued.

It stressed that the global economy showed an expanded uncertainty in trade environment following the imposition of tariffs in major economies amid continued geopolitical risks.

Export added 1.0 percent in February from a year earlier, while daily average export declined 5.9 percent in the cited month.

The number of jobs grew 136,000 in February from a year earlier, faster than an expansion of 135,000 in the previous month.

Consumer prices climbed 2.0 percent in February on a yearly basis after going up 2.2 percent in the previous month. Enditem
