WINDHOEK, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The Namibia Football Association (NFA) confirmed on Friday that football's global governing body FIFA has officially lifted the ban on Namibia Premier League side Orlando Pirates regarding the registration of new players.
This decision follows the successful resolution of a financial dispute between Pirates and a former player.
"The club has reached a settlement agreement with the player, fulfilling the outstanding financial obligations that led to the imposition of the ban," the NFA said in a statement.
According to the NFA, Pirates is now free to register new players in accordance with FIFA and NFA regulations.
The Windhoek-based club had been hit with a FIFA transfer ban from January 31, 2024.
"From the NFA's perspective, Orlando Pirates has met all requirements and there are no further obligations or expectations related to this specific case," the NFA concluded. Enditem
