HAMAR, Norway, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The Netherlands enjoyed a stellar performance on the second day of the ISU World Single Distance Championships, clinching three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze at the Hamar Olympic Hall in Norway on Friday.
The Dutch team got off to a strong start in the women's team pursuit, winning gold with a time of two minutes 56.09 seconds. Japan secured the silver, while Canada took the bronze.
In the men's team pursuit, the United States claimed the top podium position with a time of 3:39.24, followed by Italy and the Netherlands in second and third place, respectively.
The individual 500m events' titles also belonged to the Dutch skaters. In the women's 500m, Femke Kok stormed to victory in 37.50 seconds, with compatriot Jutta Leerdam securing silver. South Korea's Kim Min-Sun rounded out the podium with bronze.
In the men's 500m, Jenning De Boo of the Netherlands set a new track record with a time of 34.24 seconds to edge out American star Jordan Stolz for gold. Stolz settled for silver, while fellow American Cooper Mcleod took bronze. Enditem
